Hiking Passion App

Combining the elements from my hiking guide book, I created an app where you can find the best hiking in San Diego. I wanted a community based interactive platform so I created hiking groups and community pages. Featuring a club page, trails, and map to target all different types of experienced hikers.

With my rough ideas coming up with a personalized survey for why someone might be interested in using the app was an important feature to help the user feel like the app was made for them. As well as finalizing the main navigation pages that would be available and clickable.

When doing research it was necessary to find a platform similar to the idea of the “Trail Ahead” app. Looking at different apps such as AllTrails and National Park Service apps. Understanding the different features of these apps and looking into the reviews to see what people enjoyed about them.

Logo Development

Simple but effective was the main objective. Considering the factors of the small dimension’s of a screen home page this would sit on. Having the shoe outline which is a common theme throughout the app as their are trailheads, and adding in the topographic lines that are seen on maps.
